EXCITING AND FRESH UPDATES TO OUR NEW WEBSITE

The Home Page from our old website                                A partial view of our Home Page from our in-progress new website

Blue Star Mothers, Miami Valley Chapter #3 is thankful to The Dayton Foundation for awarding to our organization a Greenlight Grant in the amount $2500, supported through The Lucia Lee & J. Ramsey McGregor Fund and the Scott A. Albright Charitable Fund.  Additional funding was provided by William & Sally Lincoln. The Dayton Foundation’s Greenlight Grant provided major funding for the purpose of upgrading our website from an outdated platform to one based upon WordPress, along with content development and added security features including secure socket layer,  allowing our website to offer online donations with secure payment protocols which will comply with new regulations.  Blue Star Mothers, Miami Valley Chapter #3 is currently in the process of implementing these improvements and looks forward to fully unveiling them in the very near future.  We are especially excited about being able to use these new features for registrations and online payments for our upcoming major fundraiser, Blue Star Mothers- Miami Valley Chapter #3’s annual Golf Tournament on June 17, 2017 at Beavercreek Golf Club.  The Dayton Foundation’s generous support allows our organization to continue  outreach to our local community and throughout the internet via modern methods.  Our website is https://bluestarmothersdayton.com/ and our site is available, viewable and useable while we are implementing our upgrades.   Check our progress as time goes by.  New website design and upgrades by: The Next Wave  https://thenextwave.biz/

NEW THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN OUR VA RESOURCES AREA

Some of our energetic and enterprising members have started a new project to stock items needed by our veterans: clothing, personal care items, small appliances, some furniture. A special shout out to Kendra Baum, Sara Hacker, and Susan Bettinger, chief angels leading many in this effort.

WE ARE RICH IN BUFFALO WILD WINGS SAUCE

Check out the HUGE donation of yummy BWWs sauces. Buffalo Wild Wings customers have generously purchased and donated these sauces in support of our deployed military and veterans.  In case you did not already know, our deployed heroes LOVE these bottles of yummy goodness. A little dash on a MRE not only makes it taste so much better, it also brings warm and welcome memories from home.  The rumor (not a well kept secret) is that these sauces are like money to our heroes.  They trade them and bargain with them.  They use them to liven up their uninspiring regular food.  They collect a variety or their favorites.  Our troop center volunteers are packing some in all the boxes going to our deployed heroes. We are using them for our veteran events as well. Buffalo Wild Wings Sauces = love from home.

PLANNING HAS BEGUN FOR OUR ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC

Carolyn and Dan have been hard at work already soliciting new sponsors and donors.  Soon they will need your help to gather items to include in our golfer goodie bags given out to each participant.  Gift cards, discounts, items to be mixed into gift bags worth approximately $25-$30 each.  See Carolyn and Dan for more information on soliciting potential donations from the places you already patronize.  Start to get out the word about the fun experienced by our golfers and get them signed up early.
